What to Expect at Your Installation

Day 0: Free Demo & Plan

Most projects start the same way: a FREE in-home demo at your home in Broward or Palm Beach County. Horizon Lighting FL is an Authorized TruLight Dealer, and we treat this visit as a working session—not a sales pitch. We’ll walk the roofline with you, talk through what you want the lighting to do (everyday architectural glow, security scenes, holiday colors, event themes), and confirm what areas you do and don’t want lit.

We bring a sample track and a demo box, then power the lights on right on your house so you can see brightness, spacing, and how the track sits under the eave before you commit. While we’re there, we measure the runs, note roofline details, identify power options, and plan clean routing for wiring and the controller location. If you’re in an HOA community, we’ll also note what they typically ask for so you’re not chasing paperwork later.

  • On-site measurement of rooflines and key features
  • Sample track + demo box installed temporarily for a live preview
  • Discussion of scenes: Permanent Holiday Lighting, Architectural, Accent, Security, Holiday, Event
  • Planning for controller placement and power access
  • Confirmation that we do not provide landscape lighting

Day 0–1: Proposal & HOA Packet

After the demo and measurements, we put everything into a written proposal. You’ll see a clear scope of work: where the permanent holiday lighting will run, what’s included, and any access or power notes we discovered onsite. If you want the lighting to stay subtle during the day, we’ll align on track color and placement details so the finished look matches the architecture.

If your neighborhood requires approval, we can prepare an HOA packet based on what we measured—typically a simple description of the system, product details, and a layout of the proposed lighting runs. The goal is to make approval straightforward while keeping the install clean and compliant. Once you approve the proposal (and HOA sign-off if required), we schedule installation. For most residential homes, the timeline is 1–2 days depending on roofline complexity and access.

  • Written proposal with defined scope and layout plan
  • Track placement and color considerations discussed up front
  • HOA packet provided when needed
  • Scheduling coordinated around access and quiet hours
  • Typical install window: 1–2 days for most homes

Day 1: Installation & Mounting

Installation day is about precision and restraint—secure mounting, straight lines, and wiring you don’t notice. We start by protecting work areas and confirming the plan one more time. Then we mount the TruLight track under the eave (or the agreed mounting surface) so it reads as part of the home, not an add-on. Corners and transitions get special attention to keep spacing consistent and the final look balanced from the street.

Next comes the discrete wiring. We route and secure wire runs to keep them neat, protected, and visually quiet. We avoid “dangling” drops and obvious clips whenever possible by using clean paths and proper fastening. The controller location is selected to be accessible for service while staying out of sight. Finally, we connect to power using the planned source and confirm safe, reliable operation. If the home’s layout requires it, we may split the project into zones so different sides of the house can run different scenes or brightness levels.

  • Track mounted under eave for a low-profile daytime appearance
  • Consistent spacing and careful corner transitions
  • Wiring routed and secured to stay discreet
  • Controller mounted in an accessible, protected location
  • Power hookup completed and tested before we leave the roofline

Day 1–2: App Pairing & Scenes

Once the hardware is installed and powered, we pair the system with the app and confirm that you have dependable control from your phone. This step is where permanent outdoor lighting becomes genuinely useful: you can set everyday scenes (warm architectural light), security-focused lighting (brighter, specific sides of the home), and seasonal looks without climbing ladders or hanging temporary strands.

We’ll build a few starter scenes with you and show you how to adjust color, brightness, and timing. You’ll also see how zones work if your home is set up that way—front-only for weeknights, full home for weekends, or specific accents for events. Before we wrap up, we do a homeowner walkthrough: we confirm coverage, test a few presets, review basic maintenance expectations, and answer the practical questions that come up once you’ve seen the system at night.

  • Phone app pairing and connection check
  • Starter scenes set up for everyday, holiday, and event use
  • Zone control explained (if applicable)
  • Timers and schedules configured to your routine
  • Final visual check and homeowner walkthrough

After-Install Support & Service

Your installation doesn’t end when the lights turn on. If you have questions about creating new scenes, adjusting schedules, or changing looks for a holiday or party, we’re here to help you use the system well. And if anything needs attention, you have a local team that knows your layout and can service it.

Horizon Lighting FL focuses on premium permanent holiday lighting and complementary exterior lighting applications like architectural, accent, and security lighting. We also support holiday and event lighting needs using the same installed system. If you’re looking for landscape lighting, we’ll be upfront: we don’t offer landscape lighting, and we’ll keep your project centered on clean roofline and architectural solutions.
